Test your Personal Finances Iq With This Quick Quiz

December 17th, 2008
Bruce Hokin asked:

Managing your spending habits, saving sufficient funds and clearly seeing your personal financial situation are important elements in managing your personal finances correctly. This test will give you an idea whether you need some more help, or if you’re on top of this important part of your life. (The answers are listed at the end of this article.)

Question #1. What does “living within your means” really mean?

Question #2. What damage can only paying the minimum credit card payments each month do to your financial future?

Question #3. What is the most widely advocated and proven method of getting your finances in order?

Question #4. What are the most important financial goals you can set?

Question #5. Why is it not safe to spend all your income each month?

Question #6. What is the recommended percentage of my income that needs to be saved for emergencies and a savings nest egg?

Question #7. In what order should your bills be paid?

How did you fare with these questions? Did you know the answers? If not, or if you wish to check your responses, check out the answers listed below.

Answer to Question #1.

“Living within your means” means spending to live as comfortably as possible, from your income, while saving sufficient funds to adequately cater for emergencies and building your savings nest egg. It also means that you should not rely on external funding such as credit cards and bank finance just to live day-to-day.

Answer to Question #2.

Paying only the minimum credit card payment each month can condemn you to life-long poverty. It is that serious. If you only pay the minimum off your credit card each month you quickly start paying interest on the interest and the debt can spiral out of control. Live within your means, don’t add to your debts, pay cash and pay down that credit card debt as quickly as possible.

Answer to Question #3.

The most widely advocated and proven method to getting your finances in order is to prepare a budget. Please don’t go glassy-eyed and lose interest now. This is an easy task that can finally put you in control of your finances once and for all. There are many resources available on the Internet to help you quickly make a start.

Answer to Question #4.

The most important financial goals you can set are as follows:

a) Set a goal to pay down that credit card debt, both for the amount and the time period. For example, I am going to pay $5,000 off the credit card debt in the next 12 months. Commit to only living off my income starting today. I will always pay cash from today onwards.

b) The second most important goal is to set a savings target. A budget can show you how much you need to set aside for emergencies and that savings nest egg.

c) The third most important goal is to determine to be debt free. This will transform your life. Work out what you need to live and see how much better your life would be if there was no money being applied to debts each month. It’s like giving yourself a pay raise.

Answer to Question #5.

It is not safe to spend all your income each month for the simple reason that life is unpredictable. If you have no savings buffer then how will you afford the bills that occur when you least expect them? Will you pay for them with your credit card? Then how will you pay that bill?

Answer to Question #6. The most common percentage recommended to keep aside from your monthly income is 20%. This is a target of course. Not everyone can manage this immediately. Any amount you put aside will be better than nothing as long as you are shooting for a target.

Answer to Question #7.

If you are struggling with paying all your bills each month, the most vital bills are listed below in order of importance:

a) Housing – rent or house payments. If you don’t pay these you may have no home

b) vehicle

c) groceries

d) power, water, gas etc.

e) credit cards

The costs of shelter, food, clothing and transportation always come ahead of paying the credit cards.

Are you now a little more understanding of this critically important part of your life? Could you do with some help? There are many agencies and websites dedicated to offering advice and tools to help you better manage your finances. Check them out today. Financial success can be yours. Don’t you deserve it?

High Iq: Change your Eating Habits and Super Boost your Intelligence Quotient

December 7th, 2008
Evgheny Stivenson asked:

Do you feel heavy in your head when you walk around? Is your score in IQ tests too low? You may not feel as active or quick as early or you may be forgetting very commonly used words. This need not be the situation that cannot be dealt with. You can eat certain food items which will help boost your brainpower, clear up your brain and make you think at a quick pace.

Hence if you want to increase your intelligence level (and your IQ- your score in IQ tests) to the highest level read the information given below. It will help you clear up your brain and you will have great thinking power and ability to score higher in IQ tests. Your memory also depends on your eating habits.

Fish Oil

“Fish is a food for your brain” is an old belief. But nowadays fish is very polluted with mercuy and dangerous substances, so I will not recommend fish for consumption. Instead, I suggest to eat fish oil. It has fats which contain DocasaHexanenoic Acid and is beneficial for the brain and acts as a protective layer.

A majority of our brain is made up of fat and that fat is either DocasaHexanenoic Acid or Arachidonic acid. Arachidonic acid is found in unprocessed dairy products like butter and DocasaHexanenoic Acid is found only in fish and not in any other plant or vegetation.

It is very important to use a fish oil which is exceptionally good and has good reputation. I have done research and have clinical with patients, which shows the following trends.

1. Liquid form of fish oil is far better than capsules.

2. Not all brands are good

3. Carlson’s brand is the best and purest of all existing brands today.

It may not be the only brand that is exceptionally good, but till now I have come across many and have found that carlson’s brand is the best as far as fish or cod liver oil is concerned. You can find this brand at Mercola.com or at any health store near your house.

Vegetables

Nothing can ever match the nutritions that pure vegetables can provide us. Alzheimer’s has been known to occur because of deficiency of folic acid (green vegetables are very rich with it). Similarly, there are many other elements, antioxidants and phytochemicals that vegetables provide us with and can help us in keeping our brains sharp.

The easiest way to eat enough of vegetables is to prepare vegetable juice on a regular basis.

But the type of your metabolism is a key factor to decide what all you need to consume. For example, if you are a protein metabolic type, you need not eat vegetables. You can have half of what is usually recommended. That is for a protein type adult, one can eat half a pound of vegetable and this will be sufficient.

If you are a protein type of guy your diet should consist of low potassium vegetables like beans. Lettuces and the usual diet like collard greens have high potassium content and may cause biochemical imbalance. Also, if you have a metabolic type you also don’t need much vegetable juice consumption. A carbohydrate metabolic type wil beneft if he consumes more vegetables like collard greens, kale, Swiss chard etc. These are very much not suggested for the protein types.

I do recommend organic food if you want to get the most nutritious input, but if you cannot afford to buy them, don’t give up eating vegetables altogether. Eating vegetables in any form, organic or not is good and better not have them in your ration at all.

Raw Eggs

The best source for high quality nutrition is raw whole egg. It is also very much affordable by all. It is especially for those who are protein deficient. You may face some difficulty initially to eat them, but you will greatly improve your health, if you eat raw egg. Boiled or cooked eggs will not result in the same, so the lesser you cook the egg the more nutrition you will consume.

How People Deal Learning Disabilities

December 6th, 2008
Rachel Broune asked:

Learning disabilities are problems that affect the brain’s ability to receive, process, analyze, or store information. The most common and best-known verbal learning disability is dyslexia, which causes people to have trouble recognizing or processing letters and the sounds associated with them. Learning disabilities are present in at least 10 percent of the population.Although the number of children with learning disabilities is unknown, about 5% of the school-age population in the US receives special educational services for learning disabilities. There are as many learning styles as there are individuals. There are two types of the learning disabilities and they are information processing deficits this will contain the input, integration, storage, and output and specific learning disabilities this will contains the reading disability, disorders of speaking and listening, writing disability and nonverbal learning disability. Memory may be defective, including short- and long-term memory, memory use (eg, rehearsal), and verbal recall or retrieval.

People with learning disabilities have average or above-average intelligence, but their difficulties in managing the information their brains receive hold them back in school and at work, causing problems with self-esteem. One of the most painful aspects of having a learning disability is to have your brain’s inability to process information in certain ways mistaken for low intelligence. The disability usually only affects certain limited areas of a child’s development. In fact, rarely are learning disabilities severe enough to impair a person’s potential to live a happy, normal life.

Causes of Learning Disabilities

Environmental factors

Complications during pregnancy

Genetic influences

CNS infections

Symptoms of Learning Disabilities

difficulty speaking

doesn’t recognize words previously learned

math problem

spelling

direct attention

difficulty in understanding

listening

problems with physical coordination

Diagnosis for Learning Disabilities

Diagnosis includes intellectual, educational, speech and language, medical, and psychologic evaluations. The important thing is to follow up on any concerns, whether you notice something amiss at home or a teacher raises a red flag. A specialist in learning disabilities may not be as knowledgeable about other conditions that may contribute to learning difficulties. For the diagnosisof learning disabilities IQ test can be taken which will give the results for there learning disabilities. The occupational therapist will tests sensory disorders that can lead to learning problems. Specially trained educators may perform a diagnostic educational evaluation assessing the child’s academic and intellectual potential and level of academic performance.

Treatment for Learning Disabilities

The good news about learning disabilities is that while they’re permanent, they’re also treatable. Learning disabilities fall within the class of neurological issues called developmental disabilities, in that they are chronic, they limit success in one or more major life areas, and they cannot be reversed by medication. Among these sources are doctors, special education teachers, and mental health professionals who can help identify learning disabilities and recommend the right combination of medical, psychosocial, and educational treatment. You will also be provided with practical solutions to help children and adolescents with learning disabilities greatly improve their academic achievement as well as their self-esteem.

Test Obsessed Society

November 27th, 2008
Adam Khan asked:

A Frenchman, the psychologist Alfred Binet, published the first standardized test of human intelligence in 1905. But it was an American, Lewis Terman, a psychology professor at Stanford, who thought to divide a test taker’s “mental age,” not the fitness as revealed by that score, by his or her chronological age to derive a number that he called the “intelligence quotient,” or IQ. It would be hard to think of a pop-scientific coinage that has had a greater impact on the way people think about themselves and others.

No country embraced the IQ — and the application of IQ testing to restructure society — more thoroughly than the U.S. Every year millions of Americans have their IQ measured, many with a direct descendant of Binet’s original test, the Stanford-Binet, although not necessarily for the purpose Binet intended. He developed his test as a way of identifying public school students who needed extra help in learning, and that is still one of its leading uses.

But the broader and more controversial use of IQ testing has its roots in a theory of intelligence — part science, part sociology — that developed in the late 19th century, before Binet’s work and entirely separate from it. Championed first by Charles Darwin’s cousin Francis Galton, it held that intelligence was the most valuable human attribute, and that if people who had a lot of it could be identified and put in leadership positions, all of society would benefit.

Terman believed IQ tests should be used to conduct a great sorting out of the population, so that young people would be assigned on the basis of their scores to particular levels in the school system, which would lead to corresponding socioeconomic destinations in adult life. The beginning of the IQ-testing movement overlapped with the eugenics movement — hugely popular in America and Europe among the “better sort” before Hitler gave it a bad name — which held that intelligence was mostly inherited and that people deficient in it should be discouraged from reproducing. The state sterilization that Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes notoriously endorsed in a 1927 Supreme Court decision (with the slogan “Three generations of imbeciles are enough”) was done with an IQ score as justification.

The American IQ promoters scored a great coup during World War I when they persuaded the Army to give IQ tests to 1.7 million inductees. It was the world’s first mass administration of an intelligence test, and many of the standardized tests in use today can be traced back to it: the now ubiquitous and obsessed-over SAT; the Wechsler, taken by several million people a year, according to its publisher; and Terman’s own National Intelligence Test, originally used in tracking elementary school children. All these tests took from the Army the basic technique of measuring intelligence mainly by asking vocabulary questions (synonyms, antonyms, analogies, reading comprehension).

In 1958 a British sociologist named Michael Young coined the word “meritocracy” to denote a society that organizes itself according to IQ-test scores. That term too has entered the language, though it doesn’t have quite the market penetration that IQ does — or the disparaging overtone that Young intended in his satiric fable The Rise of the Meritocracy, 1870-2033. Terman and many other early advocates of IQ testing had in mind the creation of an American meritocracy, though the word didn’t exist then. They believed IQ tests could be the means to create, for the first time ever, a society in which advantage would go to the people who deserved it rather than to those who had been born into it.

In order to believe this, though, you have to believe that merit and a score on an IQ test are the same thing. Long before IQ was invented, America prided itself on being a country without a class system, in which the talented and industrious would rise and be rewarded. The advent of intelligence tests did not dramatically affect the degree of social mobility in the U.S. — at least not enough for any change to show up in the social-science data. If IQ tests measure a trait that is genetic, and therefore inherited, or a trait that is culturally transmitted by parents and social class, they would, either way, be unlikely to upend the social order in every generation. And they haven’t.

What they have done, though, is create a kind of mini-meritocracy for a few people who are very high in one ability. If you score in the top 1% on IQ tests, a system is in place in this country that is amazingly good at finding you and offering you access to a first-class education that can often lead to first-class job opportunities. People with very high IQs don’t necessarily run the country; they do, however, usually have access to a privileged and protected position.

It was the use of IQ tests to limit the opportunities of most other people that led to the anti-IQ rebellion that broke out in the last third of the century. It was probably most intense in Britain, whose public schools at midcentury had adopted a particularly severe system of sorting by test at age 11. By 1971 the U.S. Supreme Court had banned the use of IQ tests in employment except in very rare cases.

But the point is not how much the use of IQ testing has been curtailed but how widespread it still is. IQ tests are more consequential in schools and the military, where large numbers of people have to be processed quickly, than they would be at work, where it’s easier to demonstrate ability through performance over time. They also have a more pronounced effect on the lives of people who score very low or very high than on the lives of people in the middle. Still, it’s hard to grow to adulthood in the U.S. without ever having taken an IQ-derived standardized test (any test that has words like “ability” or “aptitude” or “reasoning” in its name). In a country with an unusually decentralized education system in which you can’t be sure who is studying what where, IQ tests are the easiest way of making straight-up national comparisons.

What we’ve decided now is that we’ll identify, assess and honor a much wider range of human abilities than just whatever it is that IQ tests measure. That’s the theory. The practice is that IQ testing — cheap, consistent and established — is still ubiquitous. Even the attempts to supplant it pay IQ the tribute of accepting its frame of reference. We have got used to trying to understand what goes on inside people’s head in terms of “intelligences” and “quotients,” and there doesn’t seem to be any way to put that particular horse back in the barn.

Hidden Gifts: What To Know So Your Child Isn’t Overlooked

November 25th, 2008
David Palmer, Ph.D. asked:

School’s in session – and although most of their parents don’t realize it, millions of early elementary age kids are being screened, tested, and sorted in an attempt to find those who need gifted education support services to flourish.

While it may seem that gifted kids should be able to do well in any setting, parents, researchers, and specialists who advocate for this sometimes overlooked group point out that many of our brightest child minds become bored, frustrated, and tuned out – both socially and academically – without placement in a gifted program that allows them to move through the curriculum at their own pace and connect with “mental mates” who may hold similar interests.

While many schools do an excellent job of finding these kids using screening methods like teacher recommendations and group IQ testing, parents shouldn’t be entirely dependent on the schools when it comes to identification. Keep in mind that many teacher training programs require little, if any, course work in giftedness, so some teachers and school administrators may not have all the information they need to recognize gifted children. There are also gifted kids who are not particularly high achievers in the classroom or who don’t do well on group tests. These kids may have problems with attention, have poor organizational skills, or simply not mesh with the teaching style in the classroom, and therefore may be overlooked when it comes to selection of gifted program candidates.

These types of scenarios are not unusual. In fact, some estimate that the majority of gifted children in the schools are never identified. That may not be a tragedy for some, but it very well could be for others who truly need special programming and support to get through school successfully.

I recall one boy he tested privately at the request of his mother who was concerned because her son was getting poor grades, having conflicts with the teacher, and becoming more and more disinterested in school. He was having social conflicts too, being teased and picked on by other students who liked to see his overreactions when they provoked him. It had gotten to the point where home schooling was being considered since it was getting harder to even get him out the door to go to school, which he considered torture. The school had never tested her son for giftedness. Whatever screening process was in place had missed him. Possibly because he didn’t fit the high-achieving, cooperative, wunderkind image that some teachers look for when making recommendations for gifted screening. Yet it turned out that his IQ measured in the 160’s – in the exceptionally gifted range.

This boy’s problems at school are not unusual for unidentified gifted kids. Had he been properly tested and placed in an alternative program, many of his academic and social problems might have been avoided. At the very least, the boy’s parents and teachers would have had a better understanding of his problems and been able to collaborate from a more informed perspective to come up with solutions.

Because schools can sometimes look over gifted kids who may need special programming, your insights as a parent are important. The more knowledge you have, the better position you’ll be in to collaborate with the school to help assure that your child’s potential and learning needs are not overlooked.

SO HOW DO YOU TELL IF YOUR CHILD IS GIFTED?

As you’ve probably guessed, without proper assessment, which involves a professionally administered IQ test, there is no easy answer. There are no universally accepted traits that you can look for and no definitive signs that will tell you for sure whether your child is gifted. However, many gifted children share some common characteristics, and knowing these is a good place to start.

Language Skills

While most children are able to form recognizable sentences and understand complex language by about two years of age, gifted children often reach these milestones earlier. As they approach school age, other language skills may appear advanced or sophisticated.

Learning Abilities

All children (all people really, big and small) have an inborn desire to learn about the world around them – to seek out new experiences, figure out the relationship between themselves and their surroundings, to discover, and to learn. What distinguishes gifted children from others is the apparent natural ease and joy with which they go about doing this. Their brains appear to be mental sponges, effortlessly absorbing and incorporating new information and ideas.

Emotional and Behavioral Traits

Gifted children are often more emotionally intense than others. They can also be more sensitive to others’ feelings and circumstances and may display a great deal of empathy in situations where others their age appear indifferent.

Motor Skills

Gifted children may also be advanced in skills involving balance, coordination, and movement and in some purposeful fine-motor activities such as assembling small objects (e.g., legos, transforming toys, blocks) or putting puzzles together.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU THINK YOUR CHILD HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED

So what should you do if your child has shown many of the above traits, and you feel that he has been overlooked by the school’s gifted screening process? While you don’t want to be perceived as overly protective or pushy, you also want to make sure that those making the decisions have all the information they need to truly understand your child.

Start by talking with your child’s teacher and sharing your thoughts. Parents and teachers are a child’s most important allies and they need to keep each other informed and up to date. Each sees the child from a different perspective and each has a particular insight into a child’s learning needs. As a parent, you’ve watched your child’s development since birth. You’ve seen him at home, at play, with friends, and with family. You’re in a good position to truly understand his specific interests, temperament, unique gifts, strengths, and limitations. The teacher, on the other hand, has had an opportunity to evaluate your child’s learning style, academic skills, and social and cognitive development in comparison to a large number of other children of the same age. It doesn’t take long for most experienced teachers to develop an intuitive sense of their students’ strengths and needs – to evaluate how quickly they learn, the type of instruction they respond to best, and t heir attitudes toward school. The teacher may also help you to better understand the district’s gifted education program and how it is different than what your child is already receiving.

Together, you should be able to get a more complete, objective view than either of you had on your own. Maybe you’ll come to realize that your child would be better off in a general education program since his learning style would not mesh with the type of curriculum being used in the district’s gifted program. On the other hand, in light of the extra information you have given her the teacher may recommend to the district administrator in charge of gifted placement that your child be tested further, maybe with an individually administered IQ test.

If you’ve already talked with the teacher and you still feel that your child’s needs are not being met, then consider following up on your request with an administrator. Find out through conversations with other parents, or by a phone call to the district office, who is in charge of the gifted program selection process at your child’s school. Then write a politely worded letter stating your concerns. Also consider sending a copy to the district’s coordinator of gifted education, the school principal, and the teacher.

Now all you need to do is allow those involved to respond and let the district’s screening process take over. Districts generally want to work with parents and will follow up on most reasonable requests.

Editor’s Note: David Palmer’s Book, Parents’ Guide to IQ Testing and Gifted Education: All You Need to Know to Make the Right Decisions for Your Child (2006) is available online and through Barnes and Noble and other fine book sellers.

SIDE BAR MATERIAL: Remember, IQ tests are best seen as predictors of academic achievement. An IQ score only tells us how a certain child has performed on a certain test at a certain time, and says little about that child’s true potential. Children can be gifted in many ways that are not measured on an IQ test.

How to Increase Your Intelligence and Iq, Including the Unity Method for Intelligence Increase

November 22nd, 2008
Prof. Kads Nural Chowdhury asked:

Intelligence increase is one of the most sought-after human goals. Just think what you can do with a higher IQ: get better grades, go to a better university, get a better job, get a promotion quicker, make better friends etc. The list goes on. Obviously, i’m stereotyping quite a bit here, because IQ doesn’t necessarily give you any of these things, but it clearly helps to be smart.

So can IQ and intelligence even be increased? The answer is definitely yes. You see, genius building techniques are actually used by modern day philosophers and geniuses alike and these techniques all have their roots back in ancient Greek traditions. In particular, the philosopher Socrates invented a method that allowed people to extract sensational and inspirational ideas by specific ways of thinking. So intelligence increasing techniques are not something new to the 21st century. They have been used by thousands of people in the past, and have stood the test and proof of time.

In this article, I want to teach you some practical steps so you can increase you intelligence into the stratosphere, and i want to begin by explaining how intelligence increase works.

You see, the thoughts in your head which are the primary basis to increase your intelligence are not actually created by you. You do not make them, control them, or modify them. Instead, you actually receive them from a hidden source, deep in your mind. Scientists call this the subconscious mind and it is here that your thoughts actually come from. Intelligence increase is therefore increasing the established link with the subconscious mind because the thoughts move to the conscious, and from the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind goes even further to be linked to an unconscious mind. This is more commonly known as the Universal Mind, and this ultimate level of mind permeates all living and inanimate things. And before i forget to mention, I’m not talking from a New Age or metaphysical perspective here. I’m talking from a genius perspective.

Intelligence increase is therefore a matter of establishing even more solid connections between the different areas of mind, so that inspiration and matters of genius can come to the fore. They arise because the Universal Mind is the centre of all knowing. The more connected we become to it, the greater the inspiration that can arise.

Even then, the onset and the conscious existence of genius ideas in your head is not enough to be a genius. It’s one thing to have a 180-190 IQ, but its only in the proper “use” of your high intelligence that the true genius manifests. For example, we see that people can be exceedingly rich, though possessing only normal levels of intelligence. On the other hand, there are those who are super smart, but who remain poor.

So a genius intelligence is definitely beneficial in your life, but it has to be coupled with the Correct Way of doing things, so that your genius can be manifested physically.

So the big question is, what steps can you take right now to increase your IQ? And what steps can you take right now to make sure you act in the correct way? First, you need to intend and know what your goal is. Second, you need to use the genius building techniques. Third, you need to act as if your goal is already true with firm believe. Fourth, you need to act now and physically move towards your goal. And remember what the question was above. It said “what do you need to do right now to increase your IQ”. Do yourself a favour. You cannot act where you are not. You cannot act where you have been. You cannot act where you want to go. . You can only act where you are. And that is now. So we need to start acting now to be a genius, and not sometime in the future.

For the sake of time, i will teach you a quick technique to increase your intelligence. It’s called the Unity Technique and it is super-advanced. You can find simpler techniques in other articles. The gains for this technique will not increase raw intelligence; it goes far beyond that to make genius come to you:

1. Place yourself in a relaxed environment

2. Remove your thoughts by focussing on the “emptiness” in between your thoughts.

3. Hold this state of mind as you breath

4. Hold this state of mind again as you physically move. This can be movement back and forth, or simply any time of bodily movement

5. Everytime thoughts enter your head, focus on the physical environment in terms of its shapes, colours and sounds. This will help you calm and remove your thoughts once again

6. Once the state is fully held, act towards your goals in the most efficient manner possible. There should be no thoughts bouncing around in your head. You should be in “the zone” and in a state which you are willing to act with all your mind.

This is a formidable technique used by hundreds of geniuses throughout the ages. Here is why it works: Remember we said that the Universal Mind is where our intelligence comes from? Well, at the level of the Universal Mind, there is no thought, sound or consciousness. There is just being. So when you calm your thoughts to zero, and be entirely in the moment, you actually access the power of the Universal Mind! Now, all you have to do is act towards your goals, and your goals will come flying towards you, because the Universal Mind permeates all living and non-living things, and it knows the easiest way to get it wants. If you’re mindset is the Universal Mind, you automatically get what you want.

This will bring scores upon scores of genius ideas into your life. So treat it with the respect it deserves. Having a high IQ will definetely help along this path, and my other articles will help you.

Bmw Launch “test Pilot” TV Commercial for New M3

November 16th, 2008
Evander Klum asked:

Last August 19, 2007 BMW launched its ad campaign for the M3. It’s a 50-second TV commercial showing BMW’s M3 in flight. This TV ad is the only one of its kind created for the new BMW M3 worldwide.

The commercial is entitled “Test Pilot” and shows a man who seems to be training as a fighter pilot. This TV ad was created by Ireland/Davenport and was shot in Orlando, south of Johannesburg.

The hero in the commercial has undergone strenuous examinations with the final test to be conducted on a new BMW M3 with quality BMW door handle. The commercial ends with a pay-off line that states: “The new BMW M3. The Spirit of M. Unleashed by technology”

According to Philip Ireland, the bright mind behind the advertisement, “The BMW M3 is the ultimate performance vehicle but, more than just highlighting the pure brawn, we needed to emphasize the intelligent design and technology that enables the vehicle to do what it does. We wanted to show the IQ that went into the development of the new BMW M3.”

John Davenport also said, “The BMW M3 has a performance heritage which is made possible by the extreme technological superiority and advanced innovation of the vehicle. With this in mind we thought the best way to convey the matchless driving experience of a BMW M3 would be through the intense physical and mental experiences that the driver would undergo to be able to cope with this type of driving experience.”

The TV ad is just a part of the integrated campaign that includes print, outdoor, radio, online and other direct marketing campaigns developed for the promotion of BMW’s new M3. Ireland/Davenport has also worked with BMW’s digital agency, Aqua Online which makes sure that the whole concept and idea is taken to every aspect of the campaign. It was Kevin Fitgerald of Egg Films that directed the commercial.

In making the commercial the crew has met some problems along the way fortunately for them they were not severe so the shooting has gone ahead as schedule. Ireland was quoted by Marketingweb as saying: “During filming of the high speed shots we found that the tracking vehicle at its absolute top-speed was unable to keep up with the BMW M3 in order to film the shots. So, in the end, a second BMW M3 had to be brought in to become the tracking vehicle!”

Both of the BMW’s above-the-line and below-the-line businesses are to be handled by Ireland/Davenport. And to further attract customers there would also be a “Star City Cosmonaut” online competition wherein one entrant will be given the rare opportunity to visit Star City, Russia which is a highly controlled military facility located north of Moscow where cosmonauts are trained at the Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Center since 1960s. In addition the winner will also get the chance to ride in a MIG fighter jet.

You can heal all inner sub-personalities, split personalities and remove the destructive strategies from your life by absorbing them back into the central soul personality.

The Correct use of the Strategies Once, through the use of an Ancient Advanced Synthesis of Effective Techniques, the Energy Blockages of the sub-personalities or strategies like the poor me and the violator or the selfish competitive star within the body have been removed, it is possible to consciously choose to use the Strategies to teach, to test, or just to get things done for a good cause.

I remember seeing my spiritual master, Swami Satchidananda test out a Yogi one day. He came asking him to sign a piece of paper saying that he personally knew him as a good Yogi. At this Swami became very angry, “You want Me to sign this?!!!” and he started on a very long diatribe. At the time I was trying to deal with my Violator. And this Anger was making me feel very uncomfortable.

As within, So without. We only get upset at that which we also have inside. Otherwise, why get upset? If one finger points, there are always three fingers pointing backwards!!

So I interposed myself. I asked a question of Swami in mid flow of his anger. He calmly turned towards me and answered my question with great sweet patience as you would to a child. “Are you satisfied with my answer?” “Yes Swami.” He then turned to the Yogi and laid into him verbally, again.

It is through experiences like this, that we see what it is possible to do with a large emotional IQ. And what is necessary to do.

We do not get angry with children, and yet it is necessary sometimes to act angriness, so that we can appropriately exercise them in a strong NO!! Better that a parent gently give a child boundaries. Stop them becoming a spoiled brat. Than the Universe say NO!!, to them when they are older, when they can become completely crushed by some hard thing, – bereavement or their girlfriend leaving them, perhaps. (an Ancient Advanced Synthesis of Effective Techniques gives techniques to totally stop the pain of bereavement)

Interesting Facts About High Score in Iq Tests

November 5th, 2008
Evgheny Stivenson asked:

There might be some people who claim to have a very good IQ because they have scored good in some tests. Some go to the extent of displaying their IQ score wherein sometimes the score is said to be as high as 120! The intelligence is directly proportional to the score – so is the prevalent belief. But such a claim and belief is false and biased. Each IQ test is unique, hence a high score in one test may cannot be compared to an average score of another test.

A good IQ score is highly subjective. Raw score is what you obtain when counting the answers that are correct. They should be evaluated and interpreted using some rules, otherwise it would be useless. Psychometric principles may be used to compare two scores, but some issues discussed below cannot be ignored before coming to a conclusion about the IQ score.

The Title of the IQ Test

It is rather unfortunate that psychologists haven’t till now frozen on a system to compare two IQ scores from two varying tests. Comparing two scores just on the basis of their magnitude may not be a very good idea. To determine if a score is good you have to know what the test is about and what was the highest score that one secured.

How tough is the test

The second parameter to be focused on is how tough the IQ test it. It will be easy to know if the score is really good, if we know how tough is the test. Usually the tougher the test is the lower one scores. It is highly probable that the IQ scores of two tests with the same name differ. This is because the level of difficulty of both the tests is not the same. Those who design the test decide upon the level of difficulty depending upon the age group, education and other parameters.

The Matter matters

There can be a lot of tests which have the same title or name but have different matter or subject they focus on. A 120 IQ score on one test, say verbal capability doesn’t mean you have the same level on a test with the same name but focus on mathematical abilities. Usually IQ tests try to include subject from all other categories, but today IQ tests are becoming more and more focused. Hence the subject of focus of the test should also be given its due consideration.

Age: another parameter to be addressed

When you are young, you tend to be a high IQ scorer. As you grow up the intelligence start deteriorating. But the actual intelligence that you possess may be different. The label of test, the level of difficulty or the focus area of the test is crucial. The highest score that you have got in any IQ test may not be the correct indicator of your intelligence.

Standard Deviation Units may differ

Mental age was believed to be good enough to evaluate your intelligence. But soon it was found to be of no use and a concept of intelligence quotient (IQ) was born. It is ratio of mental age to chronological age interpreted in percentage. 100 is believed to be an average score and any difference is believed to be above of below average. This system was good until it was proved worthless, because the standard deviation is not the same throughout your life.

All IQ tests don’t use same standard deviation. One may use a standard deviation of 15 and another 20. it is obvious then that two different scores cannot be compared at the same level. Hence interpreting a good IQ score becomes all the more complex.

The foundation has vanished

You can find all the above discussed parameters – the level of difficulty, the matter, standard deviation explained in detail in the IQ tests. But you will never be able to find the systedm from which the test was designed.

The system is a perfect sample taken from the population. But the population cannot be perfect since the pubic varies a lot. The situation even more convoluted when you compare different societies. Hence no IQ score can be perfect or be considered the best, even though the variables remain stable.

IQ Score: does it exist?

No digit cannot be established as a good IQ score. Any such claim is false and biased. So there neither exists a good IQ score or a bad one for that matter. But the industry is not at all concerned to remove this misconception. No efforts are being taken to clarify this issue by anyone.

Are IQ Tests Good Indicators of Your Real Intelligence?

November 5th, 2008
Brooke Hayles asked:

If you are smart, then you most likely know that you are smart, and do not really need an IQ test to validate that – though you may not have proved your intellect to the world by making some earth-shaking discovery. Nonetheless, if you still want to check where you stand on the IQ scale in comparison to known geniuses, maybe just for fun sake, then an IQ test is perhaps the best available option at present.

There are so many different versions of IQ tests available that sometimes one doesn’t know which one to go for. Basically, they all test the same skills – logical reasoning ability, puzzle-solving ability, computational ability cognitive skill, three-dimensional visualization skill, etc. – using a variety of questions.

Your IQ score generated from these tests will tell you the level of your intelligence in comparison to others who have taken the same test. For example, if your IQ score falls in the top 2% range, it means that you are smarter than 98% of the people who have taken the same test. Wow! Doesn’t that make you feel good, even though in the depth of your heart you had always known that? Modern tests usually give an overall score instead of an average score and an individual personal best score.

Some tests are better known than others, such as the ‘Expert Rating’, which even gives a certificate showing your IQ scores. You can use this certificate to impress your potential employer when you are applying for a job. If you choose to do a decent test, not the ones meant for fun, the results could be used for professional purposes. Obviously, the ones that are free of cost and state that they are just for fun cannot be used for professional purposes, and they cannot be fully relied on either.

Simple IQ tests meant for fun sake rate your general intelligence level for nonprofessional purposes, say, as a pastime activity among friends. The more serious ones give a rating for intelligence that would be recognized by many employers for professional purposes. This kind of tests are quite reliable as they explore all kinds of brain activity, apart from non-intellect-based intelligence like emotional intelligence, body intelligence, intuition-based intelligence, creative skills, etc.

As the intelligence level of a person is constantly evolving with time, experience and knowledge, the IQ of a person cannot be described by a fixed number and can improve substantially with time. Of course, a low-IQ person will probably never turn into a genius one day, or vice versa; thus one can say that serious IQ tests do give a reasonably accurate idea of a person’s intelligence level.

So if you are looking for a somewhat intellectual pastime activity, pick up one of the hundreds of free IQ tests available online, and try to beat your friends at it. Or if you are serious about adding value to your professional resume, then choose a more serious paid one that offers a certificate showing your IQ score as well as what the test indicates about your special abilities.

Summary:

Professional IQ tests yield a fairly accurate measure of the intelligence level of a person. Some of them even give a certificate that can be used for professional purposes. Sometimes such a test can reveal your aptitude for things you have never attempted before. Simple fun IQ tests are a good pastime activity among family and friends.
